Inspired by “major football tournaments” the company doesn’t call out by name, the Ugreen FineTrack 2 is shaped like a soccer ball and is designed to be used hanging off your keys or bags. It’s much larger than an Apple AirTag or credit card-sized trackers, but still small enough to bury in a suitcase or stick in your car’s glove compartment.The waterproof FineTrack 2 isavailable now for $19.99and comes with a 600mAh CR2450 battery good for around five to seven years of use with Apple’s Find My network. Ugreen’s trackers often come with excellent battery life. It updated its 1.7mm thickcredit card tracker with support for Google’s Find Hub networkand five years of battery life last September, but once it dies, it becomes e-waste. It’s the same story for the FineTrack 2. It’s not rechargeable and its battery isn’t replaceable. An AirTag’s battery might only last for around a year, but you can easily swap in a new one as often as you need.The FineTrack Mini 2 is a smaller version of Ugreen’s ball-shaped tracker.Image: UgreenAlongside the FineTrack 2 Ugreen also announced its new FineTrack Mini 2. Its functionality and battery life are identical to the ball-shaped version including five to seven years of (non-replaceable) battery life, waterproofing, and a loud 110dB alarm. But it features a smaller, lighter, and more traditional tracker design that’s more discreet and easier to stash away.
